I'm in two minds about writing this posting: Do I let the others members know that the deadline for the first entry fee installment is nearly due, or do I keep quiet and dramatically increase my chances of winning the Mac genoa in the free draw?

Conscience got the better of me so here's the reminder:

If you want the chance of winning a new championship wining genoa from McNamara Sails, you need to enter by 15th March (either full payment or the first of three installments).

Currently we have a grand total of 2 entries.....

Last weekend I attended a meeting at RTYC which I'm pleased to report went very well.

The club is extremely keen to support all our needs on and off water. For those who attended the championship in 1996, much has changed: Their new slipway (at least 10m wide) allows almost direct access to the marina without having to sail through the various moored yachts, we will not be sharing with any yacht regattas, Torbay itself seems to changed as well, with plenty to do for all the family as well as some kid-free attractions (but I'll let you search the internet for those...)

Our race officer will be none other than ex-Hornet world champion David Rayment who comes recommended by MIke MacNamara. We have a dedicated RTYC championship co-ordinator, Priscilla Porteous who is proving to be particular helpful (she has even offered to cover our registation on the day).

The club has excellent catering facilities with a full-time chef (Woody), and they have agreed to put together a meal package similar to Dale/Format with different food themes each night (subject to your feedback). I hope to have an idea of prices before Ally Pally.

One recommendation: There is a lot of accommodation, far too much to list on our website. But if you want get the best deal/accommodation I suggest you get a move on. I will start another topic for accommodation discussions/ideas

Importantly, if you have any question please do not hesitate to contact me.

I think a meal package would be great.

It makes it very easy, and it helps to make a socile atmosphere, keeps people coming back to the club.

Has there been a list drawn up yet of all the entries so far, and those that entered before the gybe draw deadline?

Hope to see everyone at Bartley this weekend-the class' revival starts with well attended opens and champs!

Cheers
