Having got this far, we really nee a concerted effort to attract more entries

I've been talking to Dean, he says he is the only one coming from Maldon - apparently child birth prevents the others - something to do with the water????

We really need the 30 entries, we are half way there once Dean's entered, I'm happy to chase up Down's, Whitstable and Herne Bay, if someone lets me have a name and telephone list for those. I see there doesn't appear to be any entries from Port Dinorwic - is Alex sailing with Strang, do they need chasing?

Best Regards
Eric Marchbanks

I can confirm that the accommodation is booked and that Rob and I will be going (entry being delayed due to lack of funds). Adrian is umming and arring. I think he may go if he gets a good offer of a crew. I would love to see the 2 Simon's go, but Torquay is not as cheep as Sandwich. The Marshall brothers have other commitments. We do have a new member, I'll work on him.

To clarify Dean's post, the wife wont let me go, as she's suffering at the moment with her pregnancy.  (I think it might have something to do with forcing her to go to the dinghy show 2 days after our wedding....)

The class is in danger of looking pretty stupid if we can't muster 30 boats at a prestige venue like Torquay. Tom worked a miracle fixing this event, where are all the entries??  Please support Tom / the class and ENTER NOW.

The following additional boats have committed to the championship (although TBYC have not yet received their entries):

Dave Edge/Martin Arnison

Dave & Fran Wood

Dean Saxton/Rob Smith

Richard Barnes/Mark Dell

Tomasz Derwinis - if Eric sells him his boat....

Jo Powell/Matt Beaumont

That makes 20 - we could do with a few more... I will in contact with those who have not made their decisions known!

John Waddington unfortunately will not be attending the champs this year as Doreen can no longer sail with him and he has no crew.

He has returned his trophy to me.

Harry/Tom

Presume you had chance after racing at Netley to update re numbers for Nationals and position with Royal Torbay.

Well done Harry, understand you won.

A further 3 boats to add to the list:

Brett Gregson/Paul Kelly

Another Polish boat

Malcolm Woodland

I'm afraid the following has resulted in the low entry:

1. Lots of new babies on the way (poor planning on behalf of the parents)

2. members committed to other classes or activities

3. An apparent anti-Torquay contingent based on the Nationals in 1997 where we were part of the Torbay regatta....
