Lyme bay have gone for the Larks in 2014 so neither Hornets nor Albacores get a look in.
I have been back to Brixham but they cannot do anything in August. I asked them to pencil us in for 2015, which they can, but they also said if we are stuck for 2014 they could do May, June July or September. Do we want a champs outside the classic mid August slot?

We want the slot that will attract the most Hornets, is the simple answer.

But when is that slot is the more difficult question. Could the Hornet helms be asked via the forum or by private e-mail.

Just a thought, but we do need to maintain our 30plus attendance status.

It would be great to have our Europeans at Garda, I suspect we might get at least 4 or 5 boats, and I would be doing my damnedest to be one!

However, if we must talk reality, I believe August is favourite, though it could be end of July or first week August without causing too much of a problem - probably.

SmileWe have a couple of clubs considering our requests at future Committee meetings. One is Loch Earn SC in Perthshire. It is 50 years since they held a champs for hornets (and I sailed there) so it would be fitting. Would people travel that far ? It would be a great family holiday area. Jim

I certainly enjoyed the last time we went to Scotland. It is a long way though for 4 days sailing. Are there any Hornets in Scotland?
