Hi All,
Herne Bay have offered us an Open on the 2/3rd of July. I know this is the week before another event many will do but we were trying to make this happen to keep the link going as we are struggling for open venues. See the message below from Herne Bay. I know they mention a massed start but I'm sure we could come to an arrangement to start before the club boats. It will not be ideal using the same course as club boats but if we start 1st things shouldn't be too bad. They are also not a large club so there shouildn't be too many boats. Could you post if you are interested in attending as if this is a non-starter we need to let them know. We would go and I'm pretty sure Eric would too.

Cheers

Clint

We have invited you along to a regatta that we run each year for an
ex-commodore (Jim Newbery)  During the event there are 4 races. 2 -
back to back on the Saturday starting at 15.00hr and 2 - back to back
races on the Sunday starting at 11.00hr.  After the races on the
Saturday there will be a Bar-B-Q where guests and competitors can buy
food.

Some of our Hornet sailors will wish to take part in the regatta as
well as the Open meeting and therefore it will be a mixed handicap
start and we will use a triangle, sausage, triangle course.

The entrance fee for Hornet sailors will be £35 per boat.  In the past
competitors have camped at the club.  Could you please inform me if
they wish to on this occasion.

My wife's birthday on the 2nd...but I'm doing my best to be there. She's going to see Take That on the Saturday night, so I'm aiming for her birthday treat shortly after the weekend...I'll keep you posted.

Anyone joining the other Hornets at Thorpe Bay (18/19 June) for their regatta?

The 1st I heard of TBYC regatta was at Stone in mid May, by which time the dialogue with Herne Bay was well under way. I hope someone will support Herne - no word from Chris Brealy et al??
