Is there anything to say we couldn't have Dyneema Jib Luff/Forestay Lines?

I dont believe so, same as you can use wire / dyneema / horse hair for the main haliyard.

Both standing and running rigging material is optional (page 19 of the rule book).

We're running a Vectran jib halyard now. The Shrouds could be rope but I'd only use PBO for that and it seems a little excessive. You'd need quite size able Dyneema to take the loads to weight saving would be off set against windage... Dyform shrouds for me please !

Also, think about the chafing around the spreader tips.

PBO rigging is quite common now and available 'off the shelf', however I would probably have to sell the boat to afford a set of shrouds!

They have resolved the shroud issue, but I have never looked into how they are doing is so can't say how. Certainly I14's have been using them. It may just be that carbon spreaders are more friendly on the PBO
