Local knowledge

Although not as strong a tide as Port Dinorwic or even Stone, because of the double high tide, you can observe very different tides depending upon the time of day and position on the race course.

Obviously stronger tides are experience in the deeper main and secondary shipping channels. However, more significantly the direction of the tide can be completely different between high waters. Generally inshore you can expect the tide to turn earlier.

Avoid the disused sewer pipe, donít attempt to cross it at any state of tide, it isnít worth it!

Have you ever seen the Shearwater class in action? Be warned they are a lively bunch!

Beer rating!!

The club does a fine line in beers and wines including a guest real ale. For the younger visitors, flaming Sambuccas, B52ís, slammers and Aftershocks are a must!

Access to the club

As you approach the shore road within the country park, there may be 2 locked gates to contend with. If you expect to arrive on the Friday night, please phone either Tom or Kevin to get the combination (This is a public forum hence the reason for not publishing the number here)

The club will open on Friday evening for early arrivals, but only the bar will be open.

 

If you know of anyone who is a spare crew or helm, or needs a boat, please get in contact. We might be able to help

IMPORTANT  change to published schedule

1st race saturday is scheduled to start at 12:00 (not 13:00)

Sweet & Sour chicken to be served on saturday night. It would be very useful if some of you could let me know if your are coming....

If anyone is arriving on the Friday night, please let me know as you will need to the gate combination and I cannot post it on this public forum

Once again a wonderful weekend. Well organised and friendly as usual. shame about the wind but nothing you could do about that. I thouroughly enjoyed myself and will be down again.
