Crew wanted for Southwold.

Is there anyone out there who fancies a ride on the plank at Southwold 25/26 June. Crew a Hornet the old fashioned way. We wont win anything but it should be fun.

The below was e.mailed to Eric Marchbanks from Peter Willans - anyone interested - please contact Peter direct - thanks:-

Hi Eric,

First, I must apologise for the delay in emailing you but I have had a very eventful week (to put it mildly)!

I am still interested in acquiring a Hornet but I will need to acquire a crew as well.

Brief details as follows:-

I am based at Bewl Valley in Kent. I am actively looking to buy a good second hand Hornet and would want to take part in the open circuit once I have found a crew and we have completed a certain amount of training/familiarisation with the boat.

I am 57 years old and have sailed Hornets in the past, both as helm and crew (with father) and am hoping to return to the class after a short spell sailing LASER 5000's. I am by no means an expert helmsman.

As for the crew requirements, all that is needed is someone who lives not too far from Bewl Valley and can handle the boat from the centre-main forward. I do not mind whether they are male or female but would prefer someone younger than me but not too young.

My e-mail address is mailto:[email protected] - [email protected] .

Hope you can help.

Regards

Anyone know of an available crew for the 2007 Championships to sail 2178 with me as my original one cannot now be available?

Entry all bought and paid for - accomodation paid for, so could be a cheap Championship for someone in sunny Torbay. If you haven't trapezed before, I can't teach quite as much as Strangler up the 1st beat but happy to give it a go

Anyone interested please ring Eric on 07793535665

Anyone around who wants to sail at Maldon next wekend.

Doesn't matter if they are a helm or crew as I am happy to do either.

If anyone else is short I will sail with them and it will save me towing my boat from North Wales

Hi Eric,

we were chatting with the Herne Bay lads after the race yesterday and they are sure they can get you a crew. Chris is on the forum so you should be able to contact him. If not Dad has his phone number.

If you do see this Chris, Eric Styles has managed to get a crew from the Downs.

Cheers

Clint

Looking for a crew for championships at Torbay 16th to 19th August 2014.
Already entered 2178.
If don't mind roughing it a bit, am putting caravan about 1.5miles from club...otherwise there is overnight parking opposite the club see championship post for details, so most expenses already dealt with

Hi All,
bit of a plea on behalf of Eric Marchbanks. He still doesn't have a crew for the Torbay champs. He has put a huge amount of effort in behind the scenes to make this a great event. He is also working very hard on the sustainability of the Hornet fleet. Please, please ask around your clubs to see if we can find him a crew. It would be really sad if he didn't get to sail.

Cheers

Clint
