Hi All

have been asked to find out what the old fleet number

is for Maldon Yacht Club seeing as the MUD MEN are back

I have access to some old yearbooks, I will look up Maldon's.

Baz, I don't know the history behind this but each fleet (probably when they reached a certain size) was allocated a number. Hoem of No.1 fleet was Burnham

Think it has been said that a club having 6 boats

Constitutes it having a fleet as to the number not to

Sure how that came about but a lot of the older classes

Were given fleet numbers maybe an RYA thing of years

gone by.

In 1966 Maldon Yacht Club was fleet no. 27
