I am intending to come and duncan oliver and colin smith from herne bay. i.e. 3 hornets.
If duncan and I cant find crew then we will team up.
Sandwich is a fine place to sail with a sea breeze from the south east which does not cancel
out with a south westerly ( unlike the Thames Estuary).

Reply from S'bay

Hi Clinton,
I have chatted with our caterer, Amanda, and she assures me that the meals will be available on an ad hoc basis, but at least booking breakfast the evening before.
The idea of the all in deal was to reduce the cost to members who wanted all meals, and for us to know in advance how many.

The replied the the treasurer who sent the deposit that if he let me have the names and addresses of the entries I could send them a membership card to allay any
problems with getting in the gate.

I would say that it would be good if we could have catering numbers by Monday 26th July.
This would also be a good time to have an entry list so we can prepare tallies etc.

There will obviously people who want to enter on the day, which we can manage.
Best regards

Jim

Message from Sandwich Bay for those that have pre entered.
I will forward the helm a membership card which will get them 2 Bay Car Passes, when presented at the toll house.( this will avoid the £7.00 entry fee payable on first entry)

Well done Dick & James - another championship win for the slippery one!

Sandwich made the class very welcome again - I was sadly unable to sail but joined in the socials and excellent meal deal. I envied the sailors on days 1+2, not 3+4, the last day would have 'done my head in' - 3 races ( 1 abandoned) all started in trapezing breeze but dying to zero.

Well done Dick Hartley ( sorry, Garry)

shame only 19 entries, including mine, where were you all??

Next year, 3 days at Netley, dates tba.

The last day definitely done my head in. The Y&Y report was watered down - I read the draft before clicking 'send' thank goodness Angry

Just had a look at http://www.championmarinephotography.co.uk - www.championmarinephotography.co.uk

Some excellent shots - one of Graham Dare nearly airborne! Much better than the boring Fotoboat ones....

Oh so there was some wind then!  As you say John, some great shots - some very interesting mast shapes too with the kites up - and we want bigger kites???

Oh there was wind all right. And sometimes there wasn't. And sometimes there was both, at the same time.
True about the mast shapes - there's one of Dellboy and Barnesey with their mast looking very odd - maybe lens distortion

John- I`ll try and not use so much vaseline next year, so you can keep a tighter hold on me. Wink

Harry- I quite like a (strawberry) jammy sandwich. LOL  Mind you next year could be interesting- nettle tea anyone ?.

Hi guys
I would like to say thank you for really great championships.
Thanks for all of you.  It was great pleasure to come and sail together.
We invite you for our nationals next year in Poland. Come and see, and maybe we make next europeans in Gdansk.
All the best and see you...
