Try the following link to see that Polland still have some Hornets surviving along with those in Holland  http://www.hornet-yacht.prv.pl/ - http://www.hornet-yacht.prv.pl/    my guess is that these are all fairly old, but bearing in mind that when I took a Polish studen sailing at Stone the other year he was saying that Polland doesn't have any massive dinghy fleets, maybe we should be trying to encourage them to update there boatds towards our design as there could well be a gap in the market there and we always did have a strong relationship with the Poles - their web site has an English section, and you will see that most of their equipement is very old fashioned. I would like to go to their regatta at end of April early May, and if I can get this underway, have space for another boat on my double stacker - anyone interested in looking at this further? Maybe we could help by taking some old sails etc, so they have idea of new rig sizes etc - anyone any thoughts?  Joe Snawdon and myself Eric 2178 Dances with Wolves went to Holland and sailed at Den Bosch and I know the Dutch have appreciated that effort. I think the Poles would and it would be nice to get a proper Europeans going again sometime - what's everyones thoughts?

Just received e.mail with a bit more detail - I think I'm definately going 2178, Martin Arnison is talking about going and Joe Snawdon is indicating he is definately going - couold be quite good fun, but a bit of a long trek, my thoughts are that if we support them eventually they may be keen enough to come back to our Championships:

Hi all,

we (NED-154) went there this year.
Great sailing, good weather, nice people, very low cost on food and accomodation.

The trip was not to bad, al one motorway from Holland to Poland. We started at 7 AM and were on site at 4 PM. Joe took the nightboat to Cuxhaven and was on site 2PM.

We did snome nice racing with Joe Snawdon. Also 2 refurbished (almost new) Hornets were there and we were told a new boat is now being build.

This event will be repeated in 2006 in the same period. Looks like there are going to be 10 Polish boats, some Dutch and hopefully also some English boats.
