So the news that Brightlingsea boats had a good outing at the 2012 championships and that Brightlingsea is to host the 2013 championships is already creating a head of steam, see http://forum.sailbrightlingsea.com/recenttopics.aspx

If there are boats out there I am sure we can get people sailing them and also get back some of the class aluminae to swell the numbers, it would be great to hit 50!

I will be getting dates sorted ASAP and will post news as it becomes available.

Cheers

dave.

The Hornet European Championships will be held at Brightlingsea from August 17th to 20th.
Details are still to be finalised and will be both e-mailed and posted here as soon as possible. In the meantime BOOK YOUR HOLIDAYS NOW!!
We hope to build on last year and a similar turnout would be great. A bigger turnout would confirm the resurgence of interest in the class.

are there any more details yet?
or SI's?
time of 1st race? would be enough to start with, and do we have to be weighed and when?
I have to do a bit of planing regarding child care, so some more details would be great, please.

How many entries so far? I put our form in the post today.

Hi Jo
Nice to see your back sailing your hornet again. Thumbs Up
Looks like there will be 5 possibly 6 boats coming from Starcross YC this year - all being well.

With such a long & deep recession the fleet are currently in the process of trying to raise funds for a biro - so we can fill out our entry forms. LOL

I'm pleased to be back, I have missed sailing,
I am trying to persuade 2 other boats from PDSC to come too.
Glad to hear we won't be sailing round on our own LOL
Looking forward to catching up with you all,
Who else is coming?
Is anyone going to camp in the campsite next to the club? That's our plan.

A "Suspect " cheque is in the post. I was waiting to see if my Knees collapsed or my helm fell over. Neither has happened so entry on its way. Probably 2114 but thoughts of taking a planker are forming. We are old farts so staying in the pub! jim

20 entered, just the one race today as the race Officer sensibly sent us in as the wind built and the casualty list grew.

Mike Mac and Tim 1st, Dick and Matt 2nd just sailing over Mike H and I on the line.

3 races scheduled for tomorrow.

Great regatta, if a little 'challenging' at times mentally!

Well done to Mike Mac, it was a classy performance but the racing was always tight! 2nd to 5th separated by just two points, and I think 6 (maybe 7) different race winner from nine races underlines the close competitive racing in the fleet.

Good socials as well, although if you ever see our illustrious chairman holding a beer mat, duck! He's not the greatest aim!
