Its the owners responsibility to make sure their craft is of the correct weight.  I would have thought any underweight boat, will be Disq from any previous results. (moral of the story - dont be light and get weighed at the end of the regatta Smile)

Euros NOR:

6. MEASUREMENTS
6.1 Each boat shall hold a valid measurement certificate.
6.2 Random measurement and safety equipment checks may be carried out at any time during the
championship at the discretion of the official National Hornet Class Committee or their nominated representative or the Race Committee

If the boat you are racing does not conform to class rules, you should in theory be disqualified, this may require a protest or not depending on SIs presumably.

Be it hull, sails or anything else, if it's not measured or doesn't conform to measurement (this also applies to boats/sails that have been measured previously and signed off) it must be legal at the time of racing.

It seems you have to go to the Royal Torbay website to find the NOR:

again please, when will this weighing take place?

Is there anything that can be done Friday night for the early arrivals?

We will be there Friday night, beers will be most important!

I'm happy to measure sails with a rubber stamp to say they measure at the event, but it would mean all sails would have to be done or no sails at all, we couldn't just do some sails, wouldn't be fair.

I can do it but there needs to be set times to do it.

FYI the 'scales' (load cell) and the chain hoist belonging to the class are now in possession of Mike Owen.

I will be there around Monday lunchtime and can measure sails if anyone needs it but I won't measure them on sat morning unless someone specifically asks me well in advance :-)

Are we still planning on stamping sails for the event? We may need a stamp for that.....
