The Big Vote

The recent postal vote gave unanimous approval to increase the size of the spinnaker. This increase is modest, approximately 10%, and allows extra area to the foot of the sail. Any change in heeling forces proved to be minimal in trials. Aesthetically it looks better with our longer than average pole of 2.5m.
Thanks to Tom Guy for arranging trials and presenting the proposal to the
membership [better than Theresa!], as well as the sailors who took part in the trials. Last but definatley not least, a special thanks to our very active sailmakers, Michael McNamara and Sam Woolner who developed the prototype designs and provided sails for the trials.
